You've had close calls with your gooseneck trailer long enough. The 9" offset on this coupler gives you more clearance when you turn. It's perfect for short beds, full-width front trailers, or any setup that runs tight near the cab.
The core of this Shocker Hitch coupler is the air bag. It changes the way your trailer moves. It takes the edge off when you hit the throttle, stop suddenly, or run into rough patches in the road. Instead of that shock and bounce transferring straight to the truck, it gets absorbed right at the hitch. Your trailer stays steady, and your truck doesn't feel like it's getting beat up every time the road gets rough.
The Shift Lock coupler uses a dual-jaw design to grab both sides of the 2-5/16" ball, creating a firm, centered connection that holds steady under tension. Many latches only grab your ball from one side, which can leave room for slop. This one clamps evenly and helps cut the jolt when you take off or stop. The locking handle sits up top, so you can see when it's latched. And if you're leaving your trailer hooked up somewhere, the InfiniteRule lock (IR66FR - sold separately) keeps the latch from being opened so no one can pull up and take it.
Every load's different. One day it's stack of treated lumber for a deck rebuild, the next it's a compact tractor with a brush cutter. That's why there's a valve built in for the air bag. Just add air for heavier hauls and let some out when the trailer's running light. It keeps the truck and trailer in sync so the ride stays smooth, no matter what you're hauling.
If you've got a short bed truck or a gooseneck trailer that cuts in too tight, you know how close things can get in a turn. The 9" offset on this coupler moves the hitch point forward to give your trailer more breathing room up front, helping you clear the cab when backing up or cornering sharp.
Towing capacity is limited by the lowest rated component in your setup.
If you have a recessed gooseneck ball, there must be at least a 12" x 12" opening in your bed for this coupler to work. In addition, the top of the hitch ball cannot be more than 2" from the top of the bed.

Hi, everyone. Steve here with etrailer.com. Today, we're looking at our Shocker Hitch. It's an air cushioned gooseneck coupler with a square inch tube, a nine-inch offset for short bed trucks, and it features that standard 2 5/16th inch gooseneck ball coupler rated at 30,000 pounds capacity. So folks, 10,000 pounds of tongue weight capacity. With this setup, I know it looks kinda funky.
You're gonna get a much smoother, safer towing. It's gonna improve your ride, reduce wear and tear on the pickup, the trailer. It's gonna absorb the bumps, the bangs, the chucking, the jerking. All those things that you're used to experiencing with a standard gooseneck coupler setup. So, maybe you got horse trailer and you want a smoother ride for your horses and yourself.
Maybe you got a construction equipment trailer that you're hauling or just heavy loads all the time. This is a great, great upgrade option for you. You can install this literally in minutes. The square tube just goes right up in place of the old coupler that you remove from your outer tube. And this is your standard four-inch or 100 millimeter square stem.
And you have three height adjustment holes here included to give you those extra height options. You got the main airbag here. You got the Schrader valve here in the front. It doesn't have the plastic cheap cap. It has a nice metal cap here.
It looks to be stainless steel. Don't quote me on that. And you've got these cushions here on the front as well. So as you can see, it's kind of doing this motion whenever it's stopping the chucking or jarring, that kinda stuff. But then when you come down here to the coupler head itself, again, super easy to work. You simply pull the spring pin here out of the latch. And then, if you watch back here, you're gonna see two bars slide out. So, when you lock this around the gooseneck ball and then you put your pin back in place to keep it from opening it back up, now you know visibly you can see that this dual pin here is going around the gooseneck ball and everything is in place and in safe. So, that's a new patented design that they've come out with that I'm really impressed with. You've got a grease Zerk inside of here for maintenance to keep everything lubricated and spinning nice and easy. And then again, everything here obviously has a beautiful powder coat finish. It's high strength. It's very, very durable. It's gonna hold up to the weather and the bugs, and the dings and nicks and everything that just naturally happens when you're towing a trailer. So again, folks. Smoother towing, easier on you, your horses, your ride, your trailer. It's actually going to potentially improve your gas mileage. I know there's data out there that they've been doing at Shocker, and they've got the data to back up that most users have gained at least one mile per gallon just by using this hitch. And that adds up, especially if you're hauling for a living. You know, those miles do add up and the money savings as well. So, something to think about. Now, if you have questions about this or any of our other hitches or even any different parts here at etrailer.com and you're not sure if this is the right setup for you or your bed length, hey, reach out to us. Call, chat, email. We'll be more than happy to assist you. That's gonna wrap it up for our look together. I'm Steven. Stay safe while you're towing.

Great products and customer service!
Great product, you can really notice the difference when traveling down the rough roads.
Just received the Shocker hitch and have not installed it yet. The hitch was received in good shape, however the cardboard box it was in was beat up pretty bad due to the weight of this hitch. Supplier needs stronger/better packaging for thes heavy parts.
Works great, but after a couple of hours the air leaks out, I only put 35psi in it , I might go with something mechanical
We put this on a flat bed trailer 40ft it bucked realy bad when empty on dirt roads. This has helped with the pressure a lot well worth the money.
